(Applicants are required to attend an orientation and other official events as indicated by the orchestra office in late August 2026.)<\/li>\n<li>Applicants are required to have basic proficiency either in English or Japanese.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"auditionFlowBlock\">\n<h5>First round (YouTube video) Audition<\/h5>\n<p>To apply, please follow the instructions below.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click the &#8220;Audition Repertoires&#8221; below and record a non-edited video.\n<div class=\"auditionFlowBtn\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hpac-orc.jp\/wpapp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/04_Audition-Repertoire-List_for-Audition-2026-as-of-December-30-2025.pdf\">Audition Repertoires<\/a>\u3000<span class=\"player\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-size: 10pt;\">\u203bDEC 30, UPDATED<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Upload your video to YouTube (via YouTube Studio) as &#8220;Unlisted mode&#8221; for the first round.<br \/>\n\u203bPlease follow the steps below to record your video.<\/p>\n<div class=\"auditionFlowBlockMovie\">\n<ul>\n<li>\u30fbVideo must be recorded within the last 3 months prior to the submission date.<\/li>\n<li>\u30fbVideo must be taken horizontally.<\/li>\n<li>\u30fbVideo must be taken from the same angle and it has to capture face, body, and fingerings of the applicants\u2019 clearly.<\/li>\n<li>\u30fbApplicants for string, woodwind, and brass instruments must create two separate video files:<br \/>\n\u2460one containing only the concerto, and \u2461one containing the required orchestral excerpts.<\/li>\n<li>\u30fbApplicants must ensure that both \u2460 and \u2461 are recorded within the past three months prior to the submission date. The two recordings may be made on different days.<\/li>\n<li>\u30fbApplicants must upload each video file to YouTube and obtain two separate links.<\/li>\n<li>\u30fbRecord the orchestra excerpts in the order they are listed in the Repertoire.<\/li>\n<li>\u30fbIf the fingering of the video is not synchronized with the audio of the video, the submitted video maybe excluded from the subject to audition.<\/li>\n<li>\u30fbDo not use the \u201cAuto Volume Control Function (AGC, ALC, etc.)\u201d as it may reduce the dynamics and nuances of the performance. HPAC Orchestra office will assist in preparing the documents for applying visa for successful candidates, however, it is their responsibility to apply at their consulate in their country and obtain the visa. This Contract shall be invalid without the Japanese working visa.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--ss_con--><\/p>\n<div id=\"contract\" class=\"auditionFlowBgBlue\">\n<div class=\"ss_con\">\n<div class=\"auditionFlowBlock borderNone\">\n<h4>Conditions and Benefits<\/h4>\n<dl class=\"auditionFlowCase\">\n<dt>Contract Type<\/dt>\n<dd>Performance Contract (Not an Employment Contract)<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl class=\"auditionFlowCase\">\n<dt>Contract Period<\/dt>\n<dd>From September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2027<br \/>\nHowever, renewable annually based on conditions (maximum until August 31, 2029)<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl class=\"auditionFlowCase\">\n<dt>Annual Activity Days<\/dt>\n<dd>Approximately 220 days per season (based on seasonal activity)<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl class=\"auditionFlowCase\">\n<dt>Compensation<\/dt>\n<dd>Annual remuneration of \u00a53,600,000, pre-tax (approximately US$ 24.399, \u20ac 20,977)* per year based on the performance contract, paid monthly in 12 equal installments<br \/>\nTravel expenses related to performance activities paid according to HPAC regulations<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl class=\"auditionFlowCase\">\n<dt>Social Insurance<\/dt>\n<dd>National Health Insurance, National Pension (Individual enrollment required. Employment Insurance and Workers&#8217; Accident Compensation Insurance do not apply).<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl class=\"auditionFlowCase\">\n<dt>Housing<\/dt>\n<dd>Housing may be provided to musicians.<\/p>\n<p>\u30fbPrefectural Public Housing (Approx. 45 min by train\/bus from HPAC)<br \/>\n\u30fb3 Rooms + Dining + Kitchen (Principally with soundproof room), Rent: \u00a513,700\u3000(approximately US$ 93, \u20ac80)*<br \/>\n\u30fbUtilities, food expenses, and other living costs are the responsibility of the individual.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl class=\"auditionFlowCase\">\n<dt>Other<\/dt>\n<dd>\u30fbIn addition to National Health Insurance and National Pension, individuals must handle their own resident tax payments.<br \/>\n\u30fbRemuneration paid by HPAC is subject to withholding income tax.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl class=\"auditionFlowCase\">\n<dt>Travel Grant<\/dt>\n<dd>New Core Members moving from abroad will receive a one-time airfare reimbursement of up to \u00a5100,000 (approximately US$ 678, \u20ac583)* to assist in their initial travel to Japan.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl class=\"auditionFlowCase\">\n<dt>Audition Grant<\/dt>\n<dd>Core Members can receive an audition grant to help defray expenses for taking auditions\u3000outside of Japan up to a specified amount set by the HPAC.<br \/>\n*Exchange rate of US$1=\u00a5147.55, \u20ac1=\u00a5171.62 (as of August 27, 2025) is applied for calculation.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl class=\"auditionFlowCase\">\n<dt>Visa Acquisition<\/dt>\n<dd>Non-Japanese nationals require a visa to enter Japan.<br \/>\nThe office will prepare necessary application documents, but visa acquisition is the individual&#8217;s responsibility.
