The Performance Activities of the PAC

The PAC Orchestra maintains a busy schedule of activities, including subscription concerts featuring world-class guest conductors and soloists, as well as special concerts devoted to well known classical works, popular music and chamber music. In addition, the Orchestra performs operas produced by the Center, conducts master classes and engages in activities outside of the performance hall, encouraging participation from members of the surrounding community. The PAC Orchestra works energetically to pursue a consistently high quality of art through these various activities while communicating the joy of music to people throughout the prefecture.

Subscription Concerts and Special Performances

  In Subscription Concerts, the Orchestra performs an attractive variety of music programs in styles ranging from classical to contemporary. These concerts--presented In the Grand Hall--feature ensembles of various sizes with world-renowned soloists and conductors, including Artistic Director, Yutaka Sado. In addition, they play familiar pieces in special performances of well known classical works, popular music and concerts for the family.

Chamber Music Concerts

  Performances of chamber music are given once a month at the Recital Hall. The Orchestra presents spirited performances of chamber music in styles from Baroque to contemporary with ensembles of various sizes.

Exciting Orchestra Classes

 Programs explaining musical pieces and instruments with screen images are presented for the benefit and enjoyment of junior high school students in the prefecture, some of whom might never have listened to orchestral music.

Outreach Activities

 The Orchestra organizes ensembles of from one to ten core members and delivers performances on demand outside of the Hall.

Opera, Ballet, New Year's Eve Concert

 Taking advantage of the Center’s resident orchestra, the PAC Orchestra appears in various stage productions such as opera, ballet and New Year’s Eve concerts presented at the Center.
